When we begin to explore using plants as medicine, it can not only connect us deeper with nature but, deeper with ourselves and our bodies. Plant medicine has been used all throughout history and we are excited to bring you the first class in our Plant Medicine series taught by our very own, Sarah Natanya.
In this hands-on workshop, we will guide you through making your very own Fire Cider Tonic and infused Herbal Honey. Fire Cider is a tonic that is traditionally made in the fall season, most notably used as a cold & flu preventative. It’s an old folk medicine, a digestive tonic, aiding in proper digestion and to promote circulation and immunity. This vinegar based infusion gets its name from the wild combination of ingredients that include many plants such as ginger, horseradish, jalapeños and balanced with lemons, herbs, turmeric, honey and more.
We will also guide you through the process of infusing your own honey which can be used on it’s own, in teas, recipes and more!
All materials provided including jars, medicine making supplies, tools and handouts.
In this class you will leave with one 32 oz jar of your own crafted Fire Cider Tonic and one 4 oz jar of infused honey and a handout packet.
Drinks are provided and all are welcome although, in this workshop we will be using sharp knives therefore, kids are welcome with an adult.
Class will take place at our home, rooted inside the Modern Nomad warehouse located at 2936 Larimer st. Denver, CO 80205
